What do you call a writer who doesn't write? A God dang American hero that's what!

It really is that simple. Video on demand is the future. It is the way shows will be distributed and viewed in 10 years. If the rights to the writers fair share of profits made off of their work isn't secured now.... well, the way the media conglomerates handled the DVD residuals is a pretty clear indicator of how easy it will be for the writers to get a better deal later on. It's not just the writers of course. The Directors Guild begins negotiations in January and The Studio Actors Guild contract expires this spring. If the AMPTP can force the writers to give up or scale back on their demands it will greatly improve their position when negotiating with the other guilds.
